Berakhirlah sudah demam Piala Dunia. Selaku peminat bola, Abang Nara pun demam jugak. Kadang-kadang stay up jugak sampai pukul 2 pagi untuk tengok game-game yang best. Tapi sayangnya, performance pemain-pemain kegemaran Abang Nara di World Cup nie memang sangat-sangat mengecewakan.

Wayne Rooney memang main macam sampah. Zakuan Adha main pun lagi power dari dia.

Cristiano Ronaldo pun tak up to standard dia. Gelecek pun asyik tak lepas jer.

Nasib baik Lionel Messi mantap gila permainan dia.

A self conclusion of football superstars who wear no ’10’ in this year’s World Cup in Africa…

    1) Wayne Rooney: W
He was fit enough to play, but didn’t quite live up to expectations.. Made several attempts on goal, but nothing went his way. No goal to his name, a shambolic performance by the ManUtd’s star, who’s recently voted as ‘the ugliest WC player of 2010’. Star-studded teammates made no difference either..they didn’t really play as a team. Rooney & England failed.

      2) Christiano Ronaldo
The quick-feet Portuguese superstar had very little contribution in matches against Cote’d’Ivoire & Brasil, but looked pretty dangerous in Portugal’s trashing over North Korea where he did score a goal, a very lucky goal I must say..& that’s all from him & Portugal. In a match where Portugal were knocked out by Spain, C.Ronaldo looked lost & far from menacing..no threat at all & that’s it.

And by the way, Christiano Ronaldo didn’t wear the no. ’10’ shirt, he wore no.’7′. My apology.

          3) Kaka
The Brasilian playmaker was not fit enough to play in this year’s WC. This had been affirmed by Brasil medical staff, but Dunga had no choice. It’s not really about his long-season injury he suffered at Real Madrid, it’s about his fitness. He gave the ball away too cheaply on so many occasions, but he did create chances of scoring for his teammates. Still a major threat for opponents despite his lack of fitness, but this is not Kaka we used to see..a below-par performance from the former FIFA World player of the year.

          4) Lionel Messi
He’s the only reason why Argentina advanced to the quarter-finals. Obviously he’s been the key-player for the South Americans, where most of the goals scored by Argentina were becoz of him. He didn’t score a single goal, but he did live up to his name as the world’s best, only unlucky not to score goals. German defenders did very, very well to shut him down, & that’ s simply the reason why Argentina were thrashed by 4 goals to nil by the German.

          5) Cesc Fabregas
This year’s WC has not been a stage for him to show what he’s made of. A brilliant player, but was left on the bench for most of the games due to the presence of Xavi Hernandez & Andres Iniesta. I should call him a super-sub, but didn’t do enough to prove his worth..perhaps becoz of lack of opportunities to play in full 90mins. He eventually went home as a world champion, but I bet we’ll see more from him in Brasil in the next 4 years..

the spain played so childishly in the final….. asik2 jatuh so that the opponent will get warning card… and the referee- hated him…not fair.. holland could hv won the champion..

        • Fact-oriented Person says:

jane, I don’t think Spain played ‘childishly’ in their final showdown against the Dutch, but I have to admit that Heitinga’s dismissal was a result of Iniesta’s dive. But that’s football jane..these kind of things do happen in most big macthes, especially when both teams are so desperate to win.

All in all, it was a very cautious approach by both teams & Dirk Van Marwick did admit that they lose to a better team, also ruing some refereeing decisions by the officials. The Netherland had better chances on goal, but Robben’s one-on-one with Casillas was not converted..while Puyol was lucky that the referee didn’t see him pulling Robben.

ya but i still blame the people who made ‘paul the octapus’ to predict which team will be the champion… it gave tension to both team and the fans… i watched the game at i-city…went back home with frustrations… well we meet again in brasil …..yea holland ^_^

        • Fact-oriented Person says:

Paul the Oracle octopus wasn’t predicting any s**t as a matter of fact, but he was doing his things based on his instinct..it had nothing to do with any prediction, NONE, full stop.

As for the Netherlands, I guess over-dependence on Arjen Robben & Wesley Sneijder had finally taken its toll against the Dutch in their final macth. Robben played brilliantly before the end of normal time (90mins), but he looked so exhausted & worn out in the extra time..too many sprint I guess.

On the other hand, Spain are more complete as a team..not really depending on David Villa or Xavi or Iniesta. From Casillas to Villa, everyone of them played well..although display by David Villa & especially Andres Iniesta really stood out.
